Single pertamanya, "The Time of My Life" sekarang diperdengarkan dan dapat diunduh di iTunes. Kurang dari 24 jam setelah kemenangan Cook, single ini, beserta lagu-lagu lain yang ia nyanyikan di final American Idol (Dream Big, I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For dari U2, dan The World I Know dari Collective Soul) menjadi lagu yang paling banyak diunduh di iTunes Amerika dan Kanada, menduduki peringkat 1, 2, 3, dan 4 berturut-turut di tangga lagu iTunes, mengalahkan lagu Rihanna, Natasha Bedingfield, Justin Timberlake, dan Madonna.

Album pertamanya pasca memenangi American Idol bertajuk 'David Cook' release pada tanggal 18 Nopember 2008, diproduseri oleh 'Rob Cavallo'

Masa kecil

Di Blue Springs South High School, ia tampil dalam drama-drama musikal, seperti The Music Man, West Side Story, and Singin' in the Rain.[5][6][4]

Karir Setelah Idol
Kurang dari 24 jam setelah kemenangannya, David Cook memiliki empat lagu top-selling di iTunes, dengan single pertamanya "The Time of My Life", berada di peringkat 1. Lagu-lagu lainnya adalah Dream Big, I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For dari U2, dan The World I Know dari Collective Soul.

Ia juga akan mengikuti American Idol LIVE! Tour 2008 di sepanjang Amerika. Tur itu akan berakhir pada bulan September 2008 di Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Credit `Honey' with at least having its heart in the right place – even if its brain isn't always so easy to find. The ever sunny and optimistic Honey Daniels holds down two jobs in her increasingly hectic life – a bartender by night and a hip hop dance instructor by day. She has hopes of one day appearing in a music video, a dream that comes true when she catches the eye of a big time producer named Michael Ellis. Not only is Honey a smash in her first video appearance, but Michael immediately hires her as choreographer for one of his projects. As is typical in these strive-and-succeed tales, Honey soon discovers that success is not all that it's cracked up to be when Michael reveals his true colors, setting up conditions for her continued employment that she hadn't quite counted on (in other words, `put out or pull out'). But the always-undaunted Honey is not about to be knocked down that easily. She uses this little setback to start thinking less about herself and more about the street kids whom she sees turning into drug dealers and gangsters right before her rose-colored eyes. Filled with a righteous zeal and determination, she rallies the neighborhood to raise money for a new dance studio that can get the youngsters off the street, channel their energies in a more positive direction, and turn their lives around.

Only the most Scrooge-like curmudgeon could object to the positive, laudatory, pull-yourself-up-by–the-bootstraps message the film is trying to convey, and one would have to be downright inhuman not to feel uplifted by the final dance sequence. But good intentions and noble aspirations do not, in and of themselves, make for a quality film, and `Honey' is a long way from fitting that bill. The movie wants to be taken seriously as a realistic view of urban life but very little of what we see ever rings true, starting with Honey herself who, with her invariably perky demeanor, seems like a cross between Little Mary Sunshine and Mother Teresa in form fitting jeans and matching halter top. Everything that happens to her – from her meteoric rise in the music video world to her purchase of an empty store for her new dance studio to the benefit performance she and her dancers stage to raise the money for the project – all come about way too easily and with virtually no noticeable effort on her part. We never believe for a moment that any of this would happen in this way in the real world. Thus, `Honey' is really little more than an urban fairy tale, fine for children, I suppose, but not of much use for adults with a more pragmatic understanding of how life actually works.

Jessica Alba is no great shakes as an actress, though she has an infectious smile and a bubbly demeanor that work well on screen. But it is Zachary Williams, as the adorable, gap-toothed eight-year-old Raymond, who steals the show. Now that is one hell of an endearing little kid.

You Got Served is a 2004 drama film written and directed by Chris Stokes, manager of its stars, recording artist Marques Houston and the members of boy band B2K. The plot concerns a group of dancers, who take part in a street dancing competition. It was released by Columbia Pictures' Screen Gems division on January 30, 2004, during the Super Bowl XXXVIII weekend and was produced by Marcus Morton, Cassius Weathersby, Billy Pollina. It opened at #1 at the boxoffice during Super Bowl weekend with $16 million USD grossed in its first week

David (Omarion) and Elgin (Marques Houston) lead a promising unstoppable streetdancing crew in Los Angeles, California who participate in street dancing battles at a warehouse owned by a local club owner, Mr. Rad (Steve Harvey). Mr. Rad is highly respected and is looked at as a father-figure or mentor. The film opens up with their crew battling another crew led by Vick (Raz-B). Their crew wins and Vick's crew is very disappointed, thinking they should have won.
After the battle, David and Elgin go to a club to deliver drugs for a drug lord named Emerald (Michael Taliferro) in order to get money for the battles. When David and Elgin are challenged by Wade (Christopher Jones), a rich kid from Orange County for five thousand dollars, they think it's easy money. Wade and his best friend, Max (Robert Hoffman) meet Elgin at a park. Elgin tells them that his crew will battle their crew next Saturday night, but Wade and Max think that Elgin's crew are not good enough to battle them at night. Furious, Elgin accepts their offer. Realizing that he and David only have half of the money, Elgin decides to borrow money from his grandmother.

Before the battle begins, Mr. Rad announces that he has a new friend named Mr. Chuck, a police officer from the LAPD, joining as a guest referee. He also announces that there will be no fighting during the battle. Sonny (Young Rome), a member from David and Elgin's crew shows up and the crew are shocked to realize that he has joined Wade's crew. They are also shocked to realize that Sonny has sold them out by performing their moves for Wade's crew. David and Elgin's crew try desperately to make a comeback, but it doesn't work and Wade's crew dominates. A fight breaks out in the middle of the battle between the two crews and Mr. Rad and Mr. Chuck break it up. The crowd applauds for Wade's crew and David and Elgin become furious that they have lost for the first time. Elgin tries to tell Mr. Rad that Wade and his crew stole their moves, but Wade, crowing over his success, delivers the titular line, "You're just mad... 'cause tonight you suckas got served!" David and Elgin's crew leaves very angry.
Meanwhile, David and Liyah (Jennifer Freeman), Elgin's sister, are falling in love. David picks her up from work and they go to a restaurant. While playing basketball with Vick, Elgin gets a cell phone call from Emerald telling him that he wants them to come earlier to do their job. Elgin tries to call David immediately, but before David can take Elgin's call, Liyah turns off his phone, leaving Elgin to do the job himself. While delivering the items, Elgin gets beaten up and robbed by some hoods. David gets a call telling him that Elgin is in the hospital and he and Liyah rush over. Consequently, Elgin gets very angry at David for attempting to hook up with his sister when he should have been taking care of business, and is also annoyed at his sister for trying to stick up for David. Elgin is also worried, since he owes Emerald money to cover for the loss of his goods.
The friends split up and form their own crews, but neither is as good as on their own as they are together. Elgin forbids Liyah to see David, ignoring the fact that she and David want to help him. Rico (J-Boog) tells David and Elgin about the "Big Bounce," a $50,000 dance competition purportedly sponsored by MTV which will provide the winning crew the opportunity to perform in a Lil' Kim video. Elgin sees this as a good way to pay back Emerald and his grandmother. Attempts to bring Elgin and David together, particularly by Liyah, are fruitless, and twice they nearly come to blows and have to be separated.
At the "Big Bounce" competition, Elgin's crew beats David's crew in the semi-finals. Crushed, David goes to a restaurant where Liyah and Beautifull (Meagan Good), Liyah's best friend, meet him. Rashann (Lil' Fizz) showes up tells them that Lil' Saint (Malcolm David Kelley), the youngest member of the crew, was shot during a drive-by shooting. They rush over to the hospital to check on him. After a few minutes, a doctor tells the gang that Lil' Saint died a few hours ago. Rico, the one who took care of Lil' Saint, becomes very sad. The next day, Rico goes over to Elgin's house and tells him that they should reunite the crew in honor of Lil' Saint. David arrives a few minutes later and is told the same thing, but he and Elgin disagree.
Elgin's crew, going by the name "The Lil' Saints", shows up to the finals of the "Big Bounce" competition. Wade Robson and Lil' Kim host the competition. The finals begin, but when they announce the winner, they discover there is a tie between "The Lil' Saints" and "Wade's Crew". Both crews refuse a tie. Lil' Kim gets advice from Mr. Rad, who declares a battle competition, "straight hood," with no rules, even allowing other people to join the battling crews. Rico, Rashann and Oscar, a former member of the crew join in. David walks up to Elgin and asks to let him battle with his crew. Elgin accepts, which ends their feud and reunites them and their crew.
They battle Wade's crew, dedicating the battle to Lil' Saint. They win the battle and the $50,000 prize and Elgin accepts David's relationship with Liyah. Wade and Max walk up to them, very upset, saying that it was not fair them to lose against them. David replies with, "Ya'll just mad, 'cause today, you suckas got served" They shout the "You Got Served" line in retaliation to Wade after he claims the battle settled nothing. The film ends with the partisan crowd, elated, chanting "Served! Served! Served! Served!" getting louder and faster, while the crew cheers for their victory.
